As we’re all aware, the Brazos Valley and the state of Texas have been hit with the most severe drought we’ve seen in 60 years. The dangers caused by such a drought have forced officials to institute a burn ban for the area, and rightfully so. The Brazos Valley Bombers concur with this policy, and so it’s with a heavy heart that the Bombers organization announces that we are cancelling fireworks shows for the 2011 season.

The popularity of our fireworks over the last four years has been incredible. We’ve enjoyed seeing the smiles on the faces of our fans every Friday, beaming as bright as the fireworks that light up the sky. As much as we will miss those moments, we would never do anything to jeopardize the safety of our fans.

Take heart, though, that the excitement will continue at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark throughout the season. The Bombers remain the top destination in the Brazos Valley for affordable family fun. There are still exciting promotions every night of the week, from now through mid-August. And while we’re all looking for a respite from the heat, keep in mind that our classic gem of a ballpark boasts a shaded grandstand and relaxing breezes, making a night with the Bombers both fun and comfortable.

Like all of you, we can’t wait a break in this oppressive drought and a chance to finally light up the night sky with a fireworks show at the ballpark. In the meantime, we look forward to enjoying a Bombers game with you and your family sometime soon.

Sincerely,

Uri Geva
