Bryan, TEXAS -- The Brazos Valley Bombers lost to the East Texas Pump Jacks 4-3 Saturday night at American Momentum Bank Ballpark. The Pump Jacks are in first place in the Texas Collegiate League standings with a record of 16-3. The win over the Bombers was the eighth straight victory for East Texas. The Bombers are in second place with a record of 13-6.
Aggie and former Brenham Cub Ty Schlottmann was the winning pitcher for the Pump Jacks. Schlottmann threw six and a third innings, giving up two earned runs on hits and striking out six.Damian Rivera took the loss for the Bombers.
East Texas scored three runs in the fourth inning and added another run in the six to take a 4-0 lead. The Bombers scored all three of their runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Bombers will return to action Monday when they face the Victoria Generals in Victoria. The team will return home Tuesday to face the Generals in the opening game of a three game home stand.
