A pitching dual was the story from Bringhurst Field in Alexandria tonight, but the Bombers got the hand up in this tale. After splitting the double header with the Woodlands the Bombers looked to gain ground on the East Texas Pump Jacks tonight, but in their way was the Alexandria Aces and their starting pitcher Zach Rodgers.

Rodgers kept the Bombers off balance through the most of the night, but in the fourth, things got away from him and the Bombers took advantage of walks and had timely hitting to take the lead 1-0. In the bottom of the 4th the Aces battled back to tie the game up. The game would remain tied until the 8th inning. Right fielder, Myles Parma hit a double and was brought home on a single by first baseman James Wathon when the Bombers retook the lead 2-1. The Bombers would get one insurance run in the ninth. Catcher, Kevin Lamb got on base with a single and then crossed home plate after Parma stroked a single to give the Bombers a 3-1 lead. The Aces gave the Bombers trouble in the bottom of the 8th, but the spectacular pitching performance of Ryan Santhon got them out of it. The Bombers added on some insurance runs in the Top of the 9th to put the Aces away.

Ryan Santhon had an amazing pitching performace tonight going all 9 innings, in a complete game. He averaged a stikeout an inning, striking out 9 while not walking a batter. He gave up one run in the 4th inning, but that was all the Aces could scrounge up. Santhon was the H and R Block Player of the Game.

The Bombers will make the journey back to the Brazos Valley night as they take on the East Texas Pump Jacks tomorrow at American Momentum Bank Ballpark in a battle for first place. First pitch is set for 7:05. The game will be a Kids Free Saturday brought to you by Chicken Express. The game will also be Local Heros Night sponsored by TEEX. The Bombers will have an off day on Sunday, but return to action Monday in Victoria for one game, and on Tuesday they return to American Momentum Bank Ballpark for a three game home stand.
