Bryan-College Station, TX -- Just as a four-leaf clover is said to bring good luck to its owner, the Bombers’ newest group of four outstanding players are sure to bring the best of luck to the Brazos Valley this season!
Mason Randolph, catcher for former Texas A&M Big 12 rival Texas Tech, is slated to join the Bombers for the 2013 season. In addition to Randolph, the Bombers have secured three other rising stars in Ryan Aper (Lincoln Land), Jake Henson (St. Louis University), and G.R. Hinsley (Paris Junior College).
Randolph has dominated his junior year with career highs of 30 hits, 15 RBIs, and 2 home runs. As a threat at the plate and a force to be reckoned with behind the plate, Randolph will be a dynamic addition to what promises to be an extraordinary season for the Bombers. Randolph is scheduled to appear in the Big 12 Championship Tournament this week with the Red Raiders and we wish them the best of luck!
Aper, a sophomore outfielder from Lincoln, IL, is a 2nd Team All-American and 1st Team All-Region player. His speed and agility are sure to be unmatched on the field this season. Henson, a St. Louis native, is a freshman catcher who holds Francis Howell Central High School’s single season and career records in average, home runs, RBIs, slugging percentage, hits, and doubles. Needless to say, Henson is coming in ready to work and demanding victory. Hinsley, a sophomore first baseman from Richmond, TX, has taken Paris by storm this season with 11 stolen bases, 44 RBIs, and 9 home runs. His fierce drive and strong bat are sure to lead the Bombers to the TCL Championship this season!
In addition to an all-star lineup on the field, the Brazos Valley Bombers are pleased to announce exciting upgrades to the University Pediatric Association Kidz Zone! This season the Kidz Zone will not only feature the inflatable obstacle course, moon bounce, speed pitch, inflatable target batting, and a giant slide, but also a Wii station, a new batting cage, and an exhilarating bubble-land experience! The new batting cage complete with a JUGS pitching machine is sure to be fun for all ages by providing each guest with the chance to show their stuff against pitches ranging from 20mph to however hot you can handle!
The Bombers start their season on the road against the Acadiana Cane Cutters on May 30th. Opening day at American Momentum Ballpark will be on June 4th versus the Woodland Strykers.
