The Bombers will be heading to McKinney tomorrow to play game one of the series at Gabe Nesbitt Field. Updated: 07/25/2008 - The Brazos Valley Bombers lost the first game of the series at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark, falling to the East Texas Pumpjacks 6-5. Jacob Liedka pitched six effective innings, allowing six hits and three runs, but was only able to receive a no-decision after Dustin Rasco blew the save. Although he struggled in the first two innings, Jacob Liedka bounced back on track and pitched effectively the rest of the way.

Posted: 07/24/2008 - The East Texas Pumpjacks evened up the series with the Brazos Valley Bombers, winning 3-1 tonight in Kilgore. Bryon Dixon pitched six innings of two-hit ball, shutting out the Bombers en route to his third victory. Sam Strickland pitched brilliantly, as he has all season, but suffered his fourth loss of the summer. The loss drops the Bombers to 17-20 on the season. They will return home to Brazos Valley tomorrow to host the Pumpjacks on Thirsty Thursday, which features $1 Beers and $0.50 Soft Drinks.

Posted: 07/23/2008 - The Brazos Valley Bombers began their four-game series with the East Texas in strong fashion, defeating the Pumpjacks 9-1. The win moves the Bombers to within four games of TCL leader McKinney, who lost to Coppell tonight by a score of 5-4. Kip Masuda had another outstanding game for the Bombers, collecting three hits and knocking in a season-high five runs.

Updated: 07/18/2008 - BRYAN, TX - The Coppell Copperheads won another pitcher’s duel against Brazos Valley, as they triumphed 3-2 at the Snake Pit in Coppell, Texas. Jacob Liedka was excellent in his first start with the Bombers, only allowing five hits and two runs in just over five innings of work, but the Bombers were unable to provide much run support, scoring only on a Brian Nelson home run. Boening was utterly dominant, as he struck out ten Bombers in just six innings of work. Danny Hernandez homered in the top of the ninth inning to tie the game, but the Bombers couldn’t hold on as they lost their second straight game.

Keith Stein Moving Up

He instantly became a fan favorite as he put his athleticism, hustle, and experience on display. After enjoying the best season of his college career last spring at Sam Houston State, he was selected in the 29th round of the Major League Draft by the Detroit Tigers.
