"If you've got the ability to work harder when you're challenged, he's going to make it through life. He's going to be happy, he's going to be hardworking all his life. He's a good kid, he's got good, high moral standards. His parents have done an excellent job."
Athletically, Kyle plays basketball, baseball and runs track. He was also on the Leon football team and helped the Cougars finish the season with a 6 and 5 record and trip to the playoffs this year. Kyle has received all district honors in football, basketball and baseball.
"Kyle possess all those traits that you'd like to have in your athletes, students, and in your own kid. He workds hard and has great leadership qualities. He gives it everything he's got, whatever it is. It doesn't matter what it is - athletics, academics, out here just horsing around - he's got a very competitive spirit, but a genuine love for the game and love for doing what is right."
"I always try to be the best I can even just in life everyday. Don't settle for less than your best. Give everything you've got here, on the court, on the field - anywhere. I just try to lead by example. Give everything you've got whenever you're out there...here or in the classroom because you can't play sports all your life, you've got to have and education, so that's why I work as hard as I do in the classroom."
Congratulations to Kyle Bumpurs of Leon High School. This week's News 3 Sports Classroom Champion.
