News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest classroom champion Jennifer Kasper. The Bryan high school senior ranks 7th in her class and is the senior class president. She's also a member of the National Honor Society, and the Bryan High School Scholars Academy. She's involved in 4-H, is an officer for the Wixon Valley 4-H and the Brazos County 4-H council. She's also the president of the Brazos County 4-H exchange club and has received the 4-H gold star award. Jennifer is not one the settle for where she is now, and is consistently trying to push herself to do better, both academically and athletically.

“ I am confident that as a softball player she's constanly doing the same thing, pushing her game to the next level. Always trying to figure out how can I make that play a little better, how can I be a little smarter and so I think her intelligence probably helps her on the softball field to make good decisions, and I think her, the values that she's learned out on the field have translated into the classroom.”

Athletically, Jennifer plays volleyball and softball. She received All district honorable mention, and all district academic honors in volleyball. She's a 3 time starter for the softball team and a 2 time 1st team all district recipient, and has also received all district academic honors. Jennifer was a member of the 2008 area team, and brings a lot of experience and leadership to the field.

“I think the rest of the team builds on her. I thnk they rely on what she says, and what she does, cause she really comes out here on a day to day basis and really shows why she's so highly ranked in her class, and why she's going to do great things in her future. And the team really respects that, and that she comes out here on a day to day basis and does what she's supposed to.

“The same thing down at the school, you have to practice and put the same effort that you do down here into your school work. Because, definitely for me it doesn't just come natural, I just dont walk into school and get everything so, I think I've taken my work ethic that I've gotten from practice and applied it to my school work, and i'm able to maintain my grades.”

Jennifer is excited to attend Texas A&M university in the fall to study Biomedical Engineering.

Congratulations to Jennifer Kasper of Bryan High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion.
