News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest Classroom Champion Charlie Jo Andrews. The Madisonville senior has a 5.14 grade point average and ranks 8th in her class. She's the president of the Student Council, Beta Club, and the FFA, where she received the Lone Star Degree. She's also the vice president of the National Honor Society, Co-Captain of the cheerleading squad, a member of FCA, and president of her church's youth council.
"Everybody responds well to Charlie Jo. She's the type of student that people love to have in their group because she is just one that's going to be the go getter and she's gonna bring a lot to the activity. She brings a lot to the classroom atmosphere."
Athletically, Charlie plays Volleyball and Tennis. She received All Academic Honorable Mention and All Brazos Valley Academic honors for Volleyball. She's a team player who's winning record is a reflection of her hard work and perseverance both on and off the court.
"You know I love to win, and I really don't like to lose. But you can't always win, losing makes you try to better yourself, and try to see what you have to fix, and athletics has just really tried to make evaluate myself in everything that I do and try to be the best in everything that I do and be the best that I can."
"Charlie's got a lot of good leadership skills. She is just kind of a natural born leader when it comes to actions and showing what it takes to be a good member of the team, a hard working member of this team. She lets her actions do the talking."
Charlie Jo plans on attending the university of Mary Hardin Baylor and studying Nursing.
Congratulations to Charlie Jo Andrews of Madisonville High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion.
