News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest classroom champion, Ethan Stroud. The North Zulch senior has a 3.95 grade point average and ranks first in his class.
Ethan is a member of Book Club, FCCLA, Beta, and is an honor student with commended performances in TAKS for 3 years. He is active in North Zulch First Baptist Church, 4-H and FFA, earning the Star Green Hand Award and the Proficiency Award Beef Production. Ethan is also the bass player for the band, Convicted Witness.
"He's a leader on this campus and he continues to be that. Basically, it's the way he was brought up. He's excelled at that and the other kids look up to Ethan as somebody they want to follow."
"He's so well rounded whether is athletics, studies, livestock judging - he's a leader. That opens all the career paths for him, so everything his open for him. He's not going to be limited to just one thing - he can do almost anything he wants to. He's well on his way to being a very successful adult."
Athletically, Ethan plays Varsity golf and won third place at district.
"He's just such a well rounded with with a great smile on his face everyday. This is just a kid that feels really good about himself. He has a lot of confidence, knows where he's going, knows where he's going, knows that gold and FFA are things that can expand his horizons. That's what he's all about, but he's a really gifted kid academically and that help's him do all these things and stay normal and happy and smile."
"It takes a lot of time and I have my parents…my parents are really supportive and they help me. I stay on top of it - I talk with my teachers, talk with my fellow students and just get stuff done, you know, just take care of business."
"Golf has taught me that - it's about strategy. You have to think every step out - what club are you going to use next, where you need to hit it to get closest to the hole? That's just like life - you have to plan ahead, you have to think, you have to be ready."
Ethan plans on attending Texas A&M University and major in Agriculture Business.
Congratulations to Ethan Stroud of North Zulch High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion.
