Academically, Avery's a member of the National Honor Society, UIL, FFA, One Act Play, FCCLA, and the Student Council. In UIL, she made it to regionals in Editorial Writing, and she also won the Nucor Top 5 Award, and she's also received Academic All-District Honors as well.
"Avery, is one of those kids people want to work with in a lab situation, or a group situation. Because they know that she's going to work hard, she's going to excel in the answers that she chooses on papers. You can see that also in how she interacts with the students in the hallways at school, and also in her athletic events. She is a leader! She goes out there to do her very best and she's gonna make sure that she's going to do the job that she's supposed to do."
"Well Avery's our senior leader out on the court. We've asked her to step up and do a lot of new things this year…Being a senior…We only have two seniors this year, and she's one and our captain. She's a great leader and a great inspiration to all our younger kiddos. Avery leads by example; she comes out she works hard in all of our drills and activities. She plays all the way around for us. Plays front row, back row, leads hitting, playing defense and all the other kids look up to her."
"It's definitely a hard thing coming from late night practice or being at an away game and coming home and still having to do homework. Still having to do homework...We have quizzes almost every day; so it's definitely hard but I enjoy it. I love to be a leader; I love to show others what it means to be a leader. And I like to lead by example by doing that. Not just saying "Hey, work hard." I like to be the one showing that I work hard."
Avery's plans after high school are currently undecided.
Congratulations to Avery Robinson of Leon High School. This week's News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
