Classroom Champion - 3/7 - Emily Engelmann

News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest Classroom Champion Emily Engelmann. The Caldwell High School senior has a 3.7 Grade Point Average and she's currently ranked in the top ten percent of her class.

Emily was a member the Lady Hornet volleyball and basketball teams. She was selected to the Academic All-District Team in both sports, as well as All-District in Basketball. science tutor. Emily's also a member of the National Honor Society, FFA, and FCA. Emily loves having a rodeo career; and she's also very active at her church."

"Emily is a super hard worker, she's one of those students that everybody else strives to be just like her. If you give her a project she not only uses her class time, but she always takes it home, so her project looks twice as good as I ever expected. She has work ethic that all the other students wish they had....So she's a great example for everyone else her at Caldwell."

"Emily is someone who competes extremely hard, she competes at a high level, regardless of the score, regardless of the scenario. She takes a lot of pride in what she does and how she carries herself and conducts herself. Doesn't get too high or too low depending on how things maybe going. How things maybe going in the short term, but continues to strive towards being her very best, putting her best effort on the court...And again, that's just so many of the aspects that her teammates admire about her."

"Being a scholar athlete is not difficult at times, because you have to learn how to schedule around your different practices and games. But in the end you're doing something that you love. And you just have to keep pushing yourself to get everything done and be the best student you can at the same time."

After high school, Emily plans on attending Blinn College and majoring in business. She also plans to continue her rodeo career.
