Classroom Champion 10/11 - Robert Lewis

It’s time now to crown another Classroom Champion and this week we congratulate Robert Lewis of Snook High School.

News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest Classroom Champion Robert Lewis. The Snook High School senior has a 5.2 Grade Point Average and he’s currently the Valedictorian of his class.

Robert is a member of the of baseball, basketball, football, golf, and track teams. He was selected 2nd Team All Disctrict in baseball and basketball. He was also an Honorable Mention All-District selection in football. Robert is a member of the National Honor Society, 4H, FFA, SPJST, and the Brethren Youth Fellowship. He's also the president of FCA. Academically, Robert has stayed on the “A” Honor Roll through out high school, and he was selected 1st Team Academic All-District in 2010 and 2011.

“Robert has been an excellent student and I've taught him for a few years now. He is the type of student that other students try to emulate in the classroom. He always turns in his work on time. He makes straight “A's” and fully understands the concepts that are given to him. Robert really enjoys playing sports, but he always puts his academia first. He finds time to do his homework in between whatever else is going on. He knows that it is knowledge that is gonna get him further than just sports.”

“Robert is our Quarterback and Free Safety. He's a senior, and he's one of our leaders...Roberts the kind of kid that every football coach dreams of. He works hard, he plays hard, both inside and outside the classroom. He's one that you want on your team every Friday night, when the chips are down.”

“What motivates me on the football field is winning. You know we're an upstart program, it's real new here. I just want to win. I want to win for myself, my team, for my younger teammates, my family...just to make everybody proud. And in the classroom it's really my parents that drive me. Every since I was little they made sure I kept my grades up. Now it's kind of a pride thing for myself just to insure that I do well in the classroom.”

Robert plans on attending Texas A&M University and majoring in Civil Engineering.

Congratulations to Robert Lewis of Snook High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
