The Cameron Yoe High School senior is a straight “A” student, and is currently ranked number three in his class.

Zach is a member of the football, baseball, and track teams. He was State Finalists and Honorable Mention Selection in football, and he was also a member of the 2011 State Champion Yoe baseball team.

Zach is the Student Council secretary, and a member of the National Honor Society, Interact Club, and the Leadership Council in football. Academically, Zach has won the Spanish 2 and 3 awards, and the Presidential Academic Achievement Gold Award. He was also a People to People Ambassador and Who’s Who nominee.

“Within the classroom Zach is definitely a leader and role model to the people around him. I know that because of his positive attitude that he’ll often spread with the people by. It’s infectious! But by his calm demeanor, he really influences people around him to stay positive, to keep trying, and to keep working. I know with our homework assignments in AP Calculus, they can get rough. And my students I expect a lot of them. He doesn’t come up with excuses. He finishes his assignments and he encourages his friends and the people around him to do the same.”, Marc Jones, AP Calculus Instructor

“Zach is a great kid. He’s the type of kid that every coach enjoys coaching. He’s going to take care of his business in the classroom. He’s going to get the work that he needs to on the field. He’s the kind of guy after a workout, he’ll come to get an extra lift in. He’s going to do whatever it takes to be successful. He’s a very, very positive kid. When I first got here four years ago, he and his brother were the first kids that I noticed. Because of their work ethic and how well they took care of things.”, Rick Rhoades, Head Football Coach

“Being a scholar athlete can be easy sometimes, but it can definitely be hard. Because, sometimes we don’t get off the field until 7:15; getting out the field house at 7:30. So you get home and have a bunch of homework…You just got to get through it and be ready for the next day. Our main goal is definitely to leave an impact on the community around here, and do the best we can throughout the season. Zach plans on attending Baylor University and majoring in business.
