Classroom Champion 10/20 - Tylar Williams

News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest classroom champion Tylar Williams. The Rudder High School senior has a 3.87 Grade point average and ranks twenty-fifth in her class. Tylar is the historian of her Senior Class Council and the National Honor Society. She's also the section editor for the school yearbook, she work actively in PALS, and at her church. Tylar was also selected to the All District and All Academic teams, and received the AVCA National Academic Award.

"Tylar is is going to ask questions, she's onr to lead the pack. She has great leadership qualities and she wants to get stuff done. And if you need something done, you get Tylar! I trust her! If I need errands…I ask Tylar to do it. She's determined, she's focus, and you see that on the court as well. She's there to play volleyball…So she's not distracted, she's giving her heart on the court and she's a great player."

"Tylar is a very dedicated volleyball player, fiery competitor, and just as dedicated in the classroom. We can tell that in the bus rides home. She's got this deal where she hooks up a book light to her headband just so she can read in the dark."

"One thing we like about Tylar is, we've seen her progress from all the way back in 7th grade. The kid love being in the gym…SH like to go to A&M matches and watch and learn. She's a fan of the sport…She likes to engage in conversations about volleyball; she likes to engage in conversations about the assignments she has to do for her class. We like having her on the court, we like having her on the bench, wherever she's at, she's an asset to the program."

"I play volleyball here at Rudder...I've been in the program for four years and it's just a really amazing experience."

"Last year seniors really impacted me in how I control myself with my team. Now I pass on positive and constructive criticism when needed. Or if I need to get on my teammates and say hey let's get together and win this."

Tylar plans on attending Texas A&M University and majoring in Chemical Engineering.

Congratulations to Tylar Williams of Rudder High School. This week's News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
