Classroom Champion 4/26 - Abigayle English

It’s time now to crown another Classroom Champion and this week we congratulate Abigayle English of A&M Consolidated High School.

News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest Classroom Champion Abigayle English. The A&M Consolidated High School senior has 3.98 grade point average, and is currently ranked in the top fifteen percent in her class.

Abigayle is a member of the bowling team, and she’s also a three-year letterman in varsity cheerleading. This spring Abigayle helped the Consol Tigers win a district title in bowling. Academically, Abigayle’s a member of the National Honor Society, the Committee Head of the Student Council, editor of the Roar Newspaper, Staff Reporter for the Yearbook, and also a member of the UIL Mock Trial Team. Abigayle is very active with volunteer and community services activities in her community and her church.

“Abigayle has been a student in our journalism for the last four years. First in Journalism I, then joining the newspaper staff and our yearbook. And she's always been extremely dedicated; very responsible. She has a great work ethic and get along well with everyone. She's also very involved in school. But she manages to balance everything really well, and always does a great job. So, I'm excited she's a Classroom Champion.”

“I think why she always has a smile on her face is because she's always accomplishing things. She's got a great sense of self achievement. When she first started, she wasn't pretty much the best bowler. She's really put a lot of hard work in, and weve seen her averages increase every week. She's gotten better and better and better! I think that's why she has a smile on her face, because she's always accomplishing something.”.”

“Being in a sport and doing school, it takes a lot of time management. And I definitely have to have a planner and I write everything in it. It's kind of hard at sometimes if it's a stressful week at school. I'm just really blessed God's put me in a school that I have an opportunity to be in a bunch of different activities...So I'm just trying to take advantage of that."

Abigayle plans on attending Texas A&M University and majoring in Education.

Congratulations to Abigayle English of A&M Consolidated High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
