News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest classroom champion Codie Lange. The Round Top Carmine senior has a 90.71 Grade point average and ranks sixth in his class.
Codie is the vice president of the 4-H Club, and the FFA Treasurer. He is on the FFA Chapter Conducting team, shows market rabbits and heifers and has earned the National Lonstar Degree. He is a member of the National Beta Club, Student Council and the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine.
"He's one you like to have. He's a good one. You with they were all like Codie. You give him something to do and you can count on it being done. He's going to get it done - whatever it is..in the classroom or what have you. He's going to get it done for you. "
Athletically, Codie is the cross country team captain. He plays basketball, baseball, golf and runs track. He was named the defensive player of the year and all district academic in basketball his junior year.
"He' sbeen playing varsity ball for four years at a school that doesn't have a lot of kids in it. A guy who comes in as a leader already as a freshman - they're very good to have on your team and somebody who will give you stability for those years and keep building on it. The kids respect him, the teachers respect him, he gives the teachers respect and he gives the coaches respect, so he's just a joy to have and a hard worker."
"I try to provide a good attitude for everybody and be positive about everything, no matter what happens and try to keep everybodys' spirits up, no matter what the score of the outcome of the game is."
Codie plans on attending Blinn and Texas A&M after graduation.
Congratulations to Codie Lange of Round Top-Carmine High School. This week's News 3 Sports Classroom Champion.
