News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest classroom champion Reagan Read. The Buffalo High school senior is ranked second in her class and has a 3.89 GPA.
Reagan is a member of the basketball and volleyball teams, and the National Qualifying Archery team. She's a member of the National Honor Society, FFA, Spanish Club, and the Student Advisory Committee. Reagan is also very active in her church and her community. In her free time she babysits and works at Read Broiler Farms.
"Reagan is a leader in the classroom. I've seen her work with students whose work ethic was maybe not the strongest. You'll see right off that that sort of irritates Reagan. So, in many ways she'll try to encourage them to do more. And she also leads by expecting so much of herself. She does it a lot for the joy of it. She likes learning. She likes learning Spanish! And that's not always something that every student is joyous about having to take. "
"Reagan is our senior this year, she's an outside hitter…She plays front and back row, she plays all around. She's a very intelligent leader, has good leadership and whatever you count on Reagan to do, she'll do it!"
"I'm senior at Buffalo High School…I'm 18 years old, I play volleyball and basketball…And I also show steer in the spring"
"Being a scholar athlete is difficult. I usually have homework every night because I'm in dual credit and AP classes. And we come back from games late sometime, but it's rewarding too!"
"I work hard to make people think I'm a leader…and I work hard for that every day, in the classroom and on the court."
Reagan plans on attending Texas A&M University and majoring in biology to become a physical therapist.
Congratulations to Reagan Read of Buffalo High School. This week's News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
