News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest classroom champion, Travis Muzny. The Caldwell senior has a 3.7 Grade point average and ranks 8th in his class.
Travis is the Vice President of the National Honor Society and his Senior class. He also shows steers for Future Farmers of America and is a member of the Spanish Club.
"He's well respected, he's polite, he's courteous, he helps other people, he's willing to help other people. He has no problem saying hey I need a little bit of help when he doesn't understand something, and he;s just like I said he's just a positive role model for other students," said teacher Sandra Monday.
Athletically, Travis plays Varsity Football and Baseball. Travis has been named to the Football Academic All District team and the All District Baseball 2nd team. He is also a member of the Brazos Valley All Academic Team.
"From basically center to tackle, he knew everybody's job. When you have that kind of individual that takes place then those six foot four, six foot five guys that don't know anything. The thing that Travis did for us is he gave us a lot of knowledge, a competitive spirit that all of our athletic programs need to have," said Travis' coach, Dale Williams.
Travis knows that working hard is key. "Well I always try to provide positive leadership, always try to keep my guys in the game, always motivate them to keep working hard no matter what the situation is. If we're down or if we're winning by thirty points, just keep going at it and keep getting after them, just always trying to instill that hard work does pay off and keep the guys working."
Travis plans on attending Texas A&M.
Congratulations to Travis Muzny of Caldwell High School. This week's News 3 Sports Classroom Champion.
