It’s time now to crown another Classroom Champion and this week we congratulate Mathew Stuard of Bremond High School.
News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest classroom champion Mathew Stuard. The Bremond High School senior has a 3.4 Grade Point Average and is ranked third in his class.
Mathew is a member of the football, basketball, and tennis teams. Bison. He's also a member of the National Honor Society, FCA, 4-H, and FCA. He's very active at his school by being a Pre-K Buddy...And he's also active in the community and his church.
“Mathew, his work ethic is strong. He catches on very quickly, and so math is definitely easy for him. He always stays on top of his work and has everything done. He participates in class, he's strong, he helps students that are struggling. I think that shows a lot about his leadership...That he is willing to help out some of the students that don't get it quite as easily as he does.”
“Matt just moved here with us this year, he's been a great guy, great athlete. He started with us in football, he was doing a great job for us and end up getting a knee injury and we lost him for the year. He's had to sit out, how he's come back to basketball. He's a great character, smart kid, he gets after it. He does a lot of the little stuff on the game, that don't show up on the stat sheet for us for sure. He's definitely a great kid.”
“Being a scholar athlete is difficult at times and pretty fun at others. Sometimes when I was a sophomore I'd wake up at six in the morning, go to powerlifting, go to school, go to basketball practice after school, and get home for about fifteen minutes, just enough to say hi. Then, run to One Act Play Practice and not get home again until nine-thirty.”
Mathew plans on attending Texas A&M University and majoring in Biomedical Science to one day become a veterinarian.
Congratulations to Mathew Stuard of Bremond High School! This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
