Classroom Champions 12/8 - John Jentsch

News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest classroom champion John Jentsch. The Milano High School senior has 4.57 Grade Point Average and is currently the Valedictorian of his class.

John is a member of the basketball, baseball, and football teams. He has been selected to the All District team in each sport. John has won the Charlie Martin Award, the Milano Athletic Highest Award, had he's won several awards at the Rockdale Fair. John's a member of FFA, 4-H, and First Baptist Church in Hearne. He's very active in his church and loves raising cattle.

"John's a great student…He's one of those when you explain something he always wants to know more. He's never satisfied with just telling him this is what we need to know, he always wants to investigate it."

"In the classroom he kind of stands out…He's a go to person. If I need something done, John's gonna get it done. If I need somebody to explain something or ask for a volunteer, John's always willing to get up and help."

"I think John looks at his academic accolades in a much brighter light than he does his athletic accolades. He strives for perfection in the classroom and that carries over to the gym, the football field, the baseball field, whatever he's doing. His intelligence in the classroom carries over to the basketball floor, the football field, baseball field, and makes everyone around him a lot better."

"I'm a senior at Milano High School! I like to play sports and get out there and do what I do. I really enjoy doing my best in class."
Being a scholar athlete, it can be pretty challenging at times because we have football games…and won't get home until midnight Along with basketball games or anything like that. I'm in dual credit classes which means I have college work. And college professors aren't really understanding; because they don't care. So you just have to worry about getting your work in as fast as possible…as best as you can."
John plans on attending Texas A&M University and majoring in biology to pursue a career in the medical field.

Congratulations to John Jentsch of Milano High School. This week's News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
