It’s time now to crown another Classroom Champion and this week we congratulate Haley Clark of Bryan High School.
News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest classroom champion Haley Clark. The Bryan High School senior has a 4.17 Grade Point Average and maintained honor roll status all throughout high school.
Haley is a member of the Bryan High School swim team. She is also a member of the Aggie Swim Club. Last year Haley was a state finalist in the 50-free and 100 meter fly. She is the first and only All-American swimmer ever at Bryan High. She made the All-State team in swimming in the 2010-2011 school year and was also the teams top scorer. Haley was also selected to the Academic All-American team.
“Haley is a great worker in class. She comes in, she’s always got a smile on her face. Always eager to see what we are doing for the next class period. She works hard, no troubles at all. Just a model student in my classroom. I think Haley works hard in the classroom and athletics because she’s got a great head on her shoulders. It’s been instilled in her in her personal life at home, her coaches in swimming. Coach Rodriguez just brags on her. Not only is Haley a very talented swimmer, but she’s a hard worker out there and it carries on over in the classroom.”
“Haley just possess great leadership and she encourages the other swimmers. She helps them out with their strokes, helps them out with their turns. She does it in such a way that the swimmers feel like Haley’s been a part of who they are and a part of their swimming role. Haley is a great student, she’s a straight ‘A’ student and she studies hard. In terms of in the pool, what has motivated her to do well. She sets goals for herself. She knows what she has to do to achieve those goals.”
“What motivates me is definitely, I look up to people that are definitely better than I am. I try to do what they do, I try to accomplish things that they accomplished. I’m really goals driven and I have goals that I strive for every time. If I don’t get them all the time it’s all right. It definitely motivates me to do a lot better. Especially in school, if I don’t get a grade that I want to. I’ll study that much harder to get the grade that I need next time. Swimming’s the same way. If I don’t get a goal time I wanted, I’ll have to work even harder to get it next time.”
Haley plans on attending Ohio University and majoring in biology to one day become a veterinarian.
Congratulations to Haley Clark of Bryan High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
