It’s time now to crown another Classroom Champion and this week we congratulate Madelyn Fletcher of Rudder High School.
News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest classroom champion Madelyn Fletcher. The Rudder High School senior has a 3.98 Grade Point Average and is ranked in the top ten percent of her class.
Madelyn is a member of the cross country and gymnastics teams. She was a state finalist in gymnastics, and won a bronze medal in vaulting. Shes also the leading scorer and MVP for the Lady Rangers gymnastics team. Academically, Madelyn is a member the National Honor Society, PALS, and teaches in the BISD Community Education Program.
“Madelyn is a really good kid...She works hard, she focuses really well in class. She's sweet, she's helpful, she's responsible. I can trust her to help people that are next to her and around her, if they have questions. She's generally just a nice person, and a good person to have around.”
“Well Madelyn is a perfectionist. She strives for perfection in everything she does. She expects to have quality work when she's out in the gym practicing. She doesn't expect anything less than perfect. Of course, a perfect in gymnastics at this point is a ten-O. But she works as hard as se can to obtain tat perfect score. And continues to work hard until she feels that she's accomplished her goals.”
“I've been doing gymnastics every since I was little. We went to stat last year as a team. That was exciting!” “I;m really motivated because I want to be the best I can be in competition...I want to be up there with everybody else. And in the classroom, I want to be the same. I have great grades. Having great grades means being able to compete in gymnastics.” “Being a scholar athlete can be difficult at times. Especially during competition season, because we are gone. But I have some great teachers and the are really willing to work with me and my schedule. My parents, and family, and coaches are also right behind me.”
Madelyn plans on attending Blinn Junior College, and then transferring to the University of Texas A&M.
Congratulations to Madelyn (MAD-UH-LIN) Fletcher of Rudder High School! This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
