It’s time now to crown another Classroom Champion and this week we congratulate Morgan Smith of A&M Consolidated High School.
News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest classroom champion Morgan Smith. The A&M Consolidated High School senior has a 4.5 Grade Point Average and is ranked seventh in her class.
Morgan is a member of the Lady Tiger basketball team, and plays shooting guard. She's also a member of the National Honor Society, Young Life, and the Youth Advisory Council of College Station. Morgan has won the Colorado School of Mines Merit scholarship, and also received the English and Spanish Awards as a freshman. Morgan is ver active at her school and her church's food pantry.
“Morgan is an absolute wonderful student. If I had a full class of her, it would make my job so much easier. She always does everything she's asked to do, ans does it well... And does everything with a positive attitude.” “Morgan is intrinsically motivated by her own goals. It doesn't take anyone telling her to do this or how well she needs to do. She sees the goals that are set in front of her and strives for perfection everyday.”
“Well the first thing I can tell you about Morgan Smith is she is very passionate about her school, very passionate about the game of basketball. I think most importantly Morgan is very passionate about academics. She is a very, very, very bright kid. She knows where she is going. She has done some internships at A&M already. She's just a super intelligent kid...And again very focused and very committed to the Lady Tigers.”
“I'm a senior at A&M Consolidated High School. I play basketball, I'm involved in NHS and Youth Advisory Council, and I also volunteer with the Mercy Project, and the food bank at my church.” “Being a scholar athlete sometimes it's hard to get all your homework in. But the teachers really work with you. And the coaches are very flexible about having to go in for tutorials and stuff. So, just as long as you get your work early and keep up with it, you're alright.”
Morgan plans on attending college and majoring in Civil Engineering.
