Classroom Champions 4/12 - Cameron Cermin

It’s time now to crown another Classroom Champion and this week we congratulate Cameron Cermin of A&M Consolidated High School.

News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest classroom champion Cameron Cermin. The A&M Consolidated High School senior currently has a 3.7 grade point average, and he’s received a football scholarship to play for the Purdue Boilermakers.

Cameron was the starting right tackle for the Consol Tiger football team. He was a unanimous 1st Team All District selection. Cameron was also named to the 2nd All State Academic Team and the All Brazos Valley Academic Football Team. Cameron’s also a member of the National Honor Society, and he’s very involved in charities and his community.

“Cameron is a very strong student in my AP Calculus class this year. He does a great job of juggling his extracurricular activities, along with his challenging course work. He’s a lot of fun to have in class. Students really look up to him; he’s a very positive role model in my classroom. He’s always smiles, very helpful to his classmates, and just a great student all the way around.”

“Cameron is a product of a tremendous family that believes in education, believes in athletics, believes in success. He wants to be successful in everything that he does. He’s a multi-sport athlete that realizes that it requires extra time in the morning and the evening, to stay competitive in those other sports as well as football. And the classroom can’t slack off."

“I wanna win, so every practice, every rep of everyday you gotta give one-hundred percent. If you don’t give that in the weight room or in practice you’re not gonna be able to do that in the games.” “Being a vocal leader is hard for me, I’m not exactly an outspoken type of guy. But I definitely lead by example. Like I said earlier, if you give one-hundred ten percent people are going to follow you.”

Cameron plans on attending Purdue University and playing football for the Boilermakers.

Congratulations to Cameron Cermin of A&M Consolidated High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion
