Classroom Champions 4/5 - Tara McCullough

It’s time now to crown another Classroom Champion and this week we congratulate Tara McCullough of Franklin High School.

News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest classroom champion Tara McCullough. The Franklin High School senior has a 4.0 grade point avereage, and is the salutatorain of her class.

Tara is a member of the softball, tennis, and basketball teams. She's also the president of the National Honor Society, FFA, Student Council, and the Spanish Club. Tara has also won the “Most Likely to Succeed” Award, and has made all “A's” in high school career. Tara is also very active in her church youth group.

“I've had Tara for two years. She's a great student. Tara's involved in so many things, clubs and sports. She's a leader in the classroom and she helps her fellow students to complete assignments, if they need help. She continues that leasdership in student council. She's also a leader to the underclassmen I believe, just because of her work ethic.”

“Tara's one of those kids you want to have on your team. She always works hard, she's one that pushes other kids. She's gonna tell the kids what they're doing wrong at specific times and really work on each other. Last year, Tara didn't play softball for me and decided to come out this year...She's been a blessing! She plays third base for us, and has been doing an excellent job stopping balls that some kids won't be able to stop...And makes plays...Never gives up. She's one of those kids that you like to have, want to have at all times during a game.”

“Well, I am a senior at Franklin High School. And I've played sports all just growing up, and this year, and this year I played basketball and right now I'm playing softball and tennis.” “Being a scholar arhlete definitely involves time management. You have to make sure that when your doing something you know, make sure you are doing it efficiently. If it's time for sports, you work on sports. If it's time to do all your school work, make sure you're doing your school work. Make sure you give one-hundred percent, and that way you make sure you have time for everything, and do it as well as you can.”

Tara plans on attending Stanford University and majoring in Liberal Arts.

Congratulations to Tara McCullough of Franklin High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
