Alisa White finished 11th to lead the Sam Houston women’s golf team to a seventh place finish at the HBU Husky Invitational. League opponent Lamar took home the team title while Houston’s Raegan Bremer was the individual medalist.
White (75-76-80-231) was tied for second going into the final round before firing a third-round 80 on the par-72, 6,084 yard Riverbend Country Club course.
Several other Southland schools competed in the event, including Central Arkansas (second), Houston Baptist (fourth), Stephen F. Austin (fifth), Incarnate Word (eighth), A&M-Corpus (tenth) and New Orleans (eleventh).
Other Bearkat finishers include Nicole Budnik (86-80-77-243) and Abigayle Corson (82-88-73-243) tied for 35th, Brooke Fouts (79-84-81-244) tied for 40th and Paige Nelson (84-86-83-253) tied for 60th.
The Bearkats will compete next week at the Web.com Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, Fla. before heading to the Southland Conference Championship in Magnolia April 15-17.
