HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- Carter Burgess came through with a two out, two run single in the 7th inning to help Sam Houston State beat Baylor 4-3 Tuesday night.
The Bearkats improve to 22-11 on the season while Baylor falls to 15-17.
Burgess went 3-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI to lead the Kat offensive attack.
Alan Scott got the win in relief, striking out two in 1.2 innings of work.
The victory was Bearkat head coach David Pierce's 100th career victory.
