HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- Hand rails will be installed on the steps in the aisles in the Orange chair back seating section.
Also, the top two rows of seats in West side sections B, C, D, E, F and G will be removed and replaced with a seating area that is more compliant with American Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.
All season ticket holders will be moved down two rows from last year’s location. Season ticket holder’s section and seat number will remain the same. Only the row will change.
Finally to accommodate the demand for more premium seating at Bowers Stadium, new chair back seating will be added to the top of sections A, B, G and H.
“Our season ticket holders are very important to us here at Sam Houston,” Bearkat director of athletics Bobby Williams said. “The improvements to accommodate ticket holders that fall within the ADA guideline, the new hand rails in the aisles for chair back customers plus the opportunity to expand our base of chair back season ticket customers will make the football experience at Bowers even better.”
Sam Houston's football success during the past three seasons has made tickets at Bowers Stadium a hot item. The Bearkats are one of only two FCS programs to earn NCAA post-season playoff berths each of the past three years.
The SHSU athletic department also has announced that “Early Bird” football season ticket renewals will start online Monday, March 17. The renewal deadline is April 30. All season account holders will receive an email with their log-in information.
Online renewals with run from March 17-28 with customers who renew online eligible for special prizes each week including a grand prize of two tickets to the Bearkats’ game with LSU in Baton Rouge.
Those customers who do not participate in the online renewal process will receive a mailed invoice after March 28. Customers have until April 30 to renew their season tickets.
Reserved chair back season tickets are $250. The price includes midfield sideline tickets to the “Battle of the Piney Woods” at Reliant Stadium, one complimentary parking pass at Bowers Stadium, a $100 tax deductible donation to the Bearkat Champions Fund that helps support scholarships for student-athletes and a 2014 premium gift item.
Bleacher reserved season tickets are $100. The price includes lower corner tickets to the “Battle of the Piney Woods” and a 2014 premium gift item.
All season ticket holders earn priority points and access to exclusive events and priority towards purchasing tickets to premium away games, NCAA playoff contests and National Championship events.
