Bryan-College Station, TX (August 14, 2013)- The Bombers jumped off to a quick start in the 1st, but the Generals quickly struck back with force.
The first run of the game was credited to G.R. Hinsley, who got a RBI off a fielder’s choice in the 1st. The Generals quickly gained control though by scoring 5 runs in the top half of the 2nd inning. A stretch of a few hits put the Bombers in a deep hole that they would have to climb out of. American Momentum Bank Ballpark was silent as the Generals were rolling until they reached the 5th inning. Horacio Correa III was able to get things going with a bases loaded RBI single. Two outs were quickly put on the board and runs started to look dim until Brett Kauten hit a triple to bring in 3 runs. G. R. Hinsley collected his second RBI of the night with a single in left field. Cody Lovejoy was able to bring in Hinsley later with a RBI single for himself making the score 7-5.
The Generals kept threatening in the later innings by putting runners in scoring position, but the Bombers held their composure. By shutting it down in the 9th the Bombers won their first ever TCL championship. Much was expected in the playoffs from the Bombers and they did not fail their goal of taking it all. Logan Burch started the game going 2 innings and giving up 5 runs. Jason Freeman relieved him going 5.2 innings and striking out 10, while also getting the win. Parker Ray came in the 8th to close the game out for the Bombers and locking the save.
