Buckeyes, Wolverines Atop BCS

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The B-C-S currently likes an Ohio
State-Michigan rematch, although Southern Cal could intervene.
The Wolverines were able to retain second place in the Bowl
Championship Series standings despite yesterday's 42-to-39 loss at
Ohio State. But Michigan is only slightly ahead of third-place
Southern Cal, which knocked off Cal.
Michigan's B-C-S average is .926. just seven-thousandths ahead
of the Trojans. U-S-C has two more regular-season games remaining
The number-one Buckeyes locked up a spot in the B-C-S title game
on January eighth with their victory over the Wolverines, their
19th straight overall.
Florida was in fourth place in the B-C-S standings with an
average of .884, followed by Notre Dame. The Irish face the Trojans
next Saturday.
