COLLEGE STATION, TX -- From one extreme to the other. Last week the A&M Consolidated Tigers were playing a Shoemaker team that hadn't won a game in a couple of years. Friday night they'll be on the road to play for the outright district lead in 12-5A against the league's only other unbeaten team - Copperas Cove.

In three of the last four meetings that the Tigers and Bulldawgs have been in the same district - the winner of this game has won or shared the district championship.

In 2010, A&M Consolidated beat Cove 24-10 and won district.
In 2009, A&M Consolidated beat Cove 21-7 and won a share of the district championship
In 2008, A&M Consolidated beat Cove 31-27, but Cove won the district championship after the Tigers had to forfeit a win against Belton for playing an ineligible player.
In 2005 Copperas Cove beat A&M Consolidated 21-14 and won the district championship.

In 2006 & 2007 Copperas Cove competed in Class 4A.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 at Bulldawg Stadium in Copperas Cove. KBTX Sports will be on hand for this huge showdown in District 12-5A and hopes to have highlights and post game reaction during Taco Bell's Friday Football Fever at 11:37 on KBTX News 3.
