COLLEGE STATION -- A&M Consolidated picked up three wins in the championship bracket of the 7 on 7 Division I State Championship, but came up a game short of reaching the state title game.
The Tigers started off with a 41-33 victory over North Crowley and followed it by eliminating West Brook 32-22.
In the quarterfinals Consol battled past El Paso Riverside 47-41 in triple overtime, but Houston Lamar was too much in the semifinals, knocking out the Tigers 53-12.
Willis got a 48-32 win over Arlington and a 38-19 victory over Klein Forest to reach the quarterfinals. However Duncanville eliminated the Wildkats 34-20.
