CYPRESS, TX -- The A&M Consolidated Tigers lost to Cypress Woods 27-21 Friday night at the Berry Center. The Tigers are now 0-2 on the season.
Consol started the scoring with a Jacob Bronowski 18 yard touchdown run. Cy-Woods tied the game at seven on a 12 yard touchdown pass from Gabriel West to Gary Tesch.
Jimmy Gilbert would put the Tigers back in front returning an interception 18 yards for a touchdown. Cy-Woods answered that score with a 22 yard touchdown run by West.
Consol jumped back in front on a crazy play. The Tigers ran a reverse but fumbled the ball. It was picked up and then put in the air. Justin Benden made the catch and scored to make the score 21-14. The Wildcats evened the game at 21 on a West touchdown pass to Sam Stewart.
Cy-Woods would take the first lead of the game at 27-21 on a West seven yard touchdown run. Consol would have a chance to tie the game with six seconds left but Weston Garner's hail mary pass to Quinton White was knocked away. Consol missed four filed goal opportunities inside the 30 yard line.
The Tigers return to action September 9 when they travel to Austin to face Westlake.
