KILLEEN, TX -- The A&M Consolidated football team beat Killeen Ellison 49-0 Thursday night at Leo Buckley Stadium. The Tigers are now 2-0 in district 12-5A play.
The start of the game was delayed about 20 minutes due to lightning. Once the game got underway the Tigers starting rolling. Jacob Bronowski capped off the Tigers' opening drive of the game with a 34 yard touchdown run. That gave Consol a 7 - 0 lead. The score would stay the same into the second quarter. That is when Bronowski hit Quinton White with a 47 yard touchdown pass to push the lead to 14-0. Brownowski capped off the first half scoring with a 50 yard touchdown run to put Consol up 21-0 at halftime.
J.J. Bynum provided the only scoring of the third quarter with a one yard touchdown run. Bynum also came up with one of the Tigers' four interceptions on the night and he recovered a fumble.
In the fourth quarter Consol quarterback Weston Garner hit Justin Benden with a 21 yard touchdown pass to push the lead to 35-0. Alex Moore's seven yard touchdown run made it 42-0. Zerrick Merchant capped off the scoring with a 30 yard touchdown run.
Consol will return to action October 7 when they face Bryan at Kyle Field on the Texas A&M campus.
