BRYAN -- Bryan wasted little time jumping all over 0-3 Ellison, forcing four first quarter turnovers and leading 28-0 after one on the way to a 56-7 district opening victory Friday at Merrill Green Stadium.
The Vikings scored first on a 10 yard Chris Johnson quarterback keeper, then got a turnover on the ensuing kick off, and scored again on a 7 yard Kevin Jefferson run.
Then the Bryan defense took over, as Shavon Pennie returned a fumble 56 yards for a touchdown and Joe Clay returned an interception, his second of the quarter, for a touchdown to give the Vikings a 28-0 lead after one.
The Vikings added another Johnson touchdown, an 83 yard Jefferson run, and a 37 yard Chris Johnson to Bobby Johnson touchdown pass to cruise into the half up 49-0.
Jessica Salazar was named Homecoming Queen and Denzell Brown was voted Homecoming King on a happy night for the home team.
The Vikings improve to 3-1 overall, 1-0 in district play and will hit the road next week to face Shoemaker next Friday.
