SHENANDOAH, TX -- The Bryan Vikings lost to College Park 50-21 Thursday night at Woodforest Bank Stadium. The loss drops the Vikings record to 2-1.
College Park had a 2-0 lead in the first quarter when Connor McPherson scored on a 15 yard touchdown run to give the Cavaliers an 8-0 lead. College Park pushed the lead to 15-0 on a 22 yard touchdown run by Alex Young.
The Vikings got on the board on the ensuing kick-off when Bobby Johnson raced 76 yards for a touchdown, cutting the College park lead to 15-7. After a Cavalier touchdown to extend the lead to 22 - 7 Bryan running back Kevin Jefferson took a hand-off and went 50 yards for a touchdown to pull the Vikings to within eight points, but 22-14 would be as close as Bryan would get in this one.
College Park would get touchdown runs from Zach Wright and McPherson to close out the first half. The Cavaliers led 36-14 at the half. Wright and McPherson would add third quarter touchdown runs in the third quarter to help College Park add to their advantage.
Bryan will return to action next Friday (9/23) when they'll kick off District 12-5A play against the Ellison Eagles at Merrill Green Stadium in Bryan. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm.
