COPPERAS COVE, Texas -- The A&M Consolidated football team lost to Copperas Cove Friday night 23-21. It was the Tigers' first district 12-5A loss of the season.
Copperas Cove would jump out to an early 10-0 lead before the Tigers got on the board. Quinton White's one yard touchdown run cut the Bulldawg lead to 10-7. With less than a minute to go in the second quarter White scored again on a 30 yard touchdown run. The Tigers would trail 17-14 at the half.
Consol would take a 21-20 second half lead but in the fourth quarter Cove kicker Eli Kunes hits his 3rd field goal of the night from 24 yards to put the Bulldawgs ahead for good 23-21.
The Tigers will close out the home portion of their schedule October 28 when they host Harker Heights. The regular season finale is set for November 4 in Belton.
