ARLINGTON, Texas -- Quarterback Reginald Davis ran for 242 yards and two touchdowns, passed for 226 yards and three TDs and returned a punt 80 yards for a score as Tenaha beat Munday, 52-28, and won the Class 1A Division II title.
Tenaha scored 21 unanswered points to open the second half, including touchdowns off two turnovers, in front of 5,592 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington Thursday night.
Davis, who has committed to Texas Tech, was the game's Offensive Most Valuable Player. He was 10-of-21 passing and accounted for 314 all-purpose yards for the 14-0 Tigers.
The state championship is Tenaha's second, having won the 1998 team Class 1A crown.
Quarterback Paul Dee had 146 yards rushing and two touchdowns for 13-3 Munday, which played for its third championship and second since 2007.
