With seven starters returning on offense and another four back on defense the Hornets should be in good shape to stretch their playoff streak to four consecutive seasons.
The Hornets will have to battle Willis (8-4 in 2010) and Humble (12-2 in 2010) for the district crown, and Kingwood Park (9-4, in 2010, upset Brenham in playoffs) will be in the mix as well.
Huntsville will have home field advantage against Humble and Willis, which could play a key role in deciding a district champion. Daniel Hazelwood returns as the Hornets starting quarterback, and he will have three big returning starters on the offensive line blocking for him and running back Henry Ford.
The Hornets 4-2-5 defense will be led by senior linebacker Bridge Blount, who was in on an amazing 205 tackles last season. Demonte Byrd and Steve York give the Hornets a pair of large returning starters on the line, but the secondary will be very young without a starter coming back.
