Coming off one of the best seasons in school history the Eagles hope to reload and return to the postseason for the third season in a row.
While the offense returns five starters, the defense returns only one and will have to break in some young players to be successful. The Eagles are set at quarterback with the return of honorable mention all-state signal caller Kogan Garrett. He has three good receivers to work with, led by third team all-state selection Josh Murray. Lexington must replace four starters on the line and all-state running back Xavier Ward.
Murray will lead the charge on defense as the Eagles look to replace all-state performers Anthony Robbins, Chance Sherrill, and Chase Sherrill. Many Eagles who earned all-district honors will be back to fill the holes on the defense.
Once again Lexington will play in one of the toughest 2A districts in the state. The Eagles will content with Rogers, Franklin, and Thorndale for the three playoff spots out of 12-2A Division II, and getting to face Rogers and Thorndale at home should be enough to help Lexington return to the playoffs in 2011.
