COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Melissa quarterback Wes McQueen hit a wide-open Brad Bush for the game-winning touchdown to give the Cardinals a 27-20 win over Houston Kinkaid in the 7-on-7 State championship game Friday.
McQueen, who was named most valuable player, found Bush for a
key first down, and Bush worked his way wide open on the left side
to make the tie-breaking touchdown reception.
McQueen threw two touchdowns to Mason Hart.
In the consolation final, Gatesville quarterback Cole Edminston
threw two touchdown passes to Tyler Jaynes to lead the Hornets to a
34-15 win over Whitney.
