WALLER, Texas -- Navasota jumped on Sealy early and used a dominating second half effort to knock the Tigers out of the playoffs for the second season in a row 40-13.
The Rattlers also beat Sealy in 3A Division I bi-district playoff action last season at Waller.
The Rattlers will advance to face the winner of Saturday's Silsbee/Huffman Hargrave game.
Navasota scored on the second play from scrimmage to grab the early lead. Kadarius Baker found Solomon McGinty for a 63-yard touchdown and the extra point put the Rattlers up 7-0.
A field goal made it 10-0 before the Tigers narrowed the gap in the second quarter. Jowan Davis punched in a one-yard score to make it a 10-7 ballgame.
Navasota rebuilt their ten point advantage just before the break when Baker hooked up with Austin Collins for a 44-yard touchdown.
Baker scored the first touchdown of the second half on a two-yard sneak, but left the game with an injury. However, back up quarterback Jacob Malek picked up where Baker left off, finding McGinty on a long passing play before scoring a one-yard touchdown to put the Rattlers in command up 31-7.
