TEMPLE, Texas -- Temple has trimmed their list of candidates for the Athletic Director/Head football coach job to four, including two very successful local coaches.

* Coached at the University of Houston, 2003-2006
Daingerfield Head Coach Barry Bowman had been selected as a finalist but withdrew his name Friday afternoon.
Timeline for Search
* November 29: Pre-process meeting with the interview committee in the Superintendent's office
* December 2-14: Open forums
* December 17-January 7: Position posted
* January 7-28: Interview team will review all applications and
interview their top applicants. The committee will determine the number to be interviewed. The committee has been asked to submit at least their top 6 candidates by January 14 to HR.
* January 31-February 11: Final interviews by superintendent and senior administrative team
* February 14: Board Meeting. Present lone finalist.
The interview committee is made up of TISD teachers, administrators, current and former coaches (multiple sports), parents and community members.
