COLLEGE STATION, TX -- The David Raffield era of A&M Consolidated football officially began today at Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers new head football coach led his team in their first day of spring practice.
Raffield comes to College Station after eight seasons as the head coach at Cy Falls and takes over for long time Consol head man Jim Slaughter.
For the Tigers this spring means a chance to learn the new system Raffield is bringing to College Station.
Raffield said, "I think we'll get it all installed in the spring and get to work on it all summer with 7-on-7 and we'll be ready to go come fall. Everything is built for this day. Since the day I got the job all we wanted to do is get to spring football, coach a little ball, get to know the kids a little bit on the field and we're having a great time out here in this wind."
Another familiar face took the field today in Dale Williams, the former head coach at Caldwell who is now Consol's new defensive coordinator.
