Rockdale falls at home to Abilene Wylie

ROCKDALE, TX -- The Rockdale Tigers lost to Abilene Wylie 35-14 Saturday night in the first game of the 2011 season for both teams.

Wylie got the scoring started on a Garrett Martin two yard touchdown run. The Bulldogs led 7-0 after the first quarter. Wylie extended the lead to 14-0 on a 14 yard touchdown pass from Matt McLeod to Martin.

Rockdale got on the board in the second quarter on a 10 yard Ethan Brinkley touchdown pass. The Tigers missed the extra point.

Wylie answered the score with a 28 yard touchdown pass from McLeod to Tyler Manawes to take a 21- 6 halftime lead. The Bulldogs would not look back in the second half.

Rockdale returns to action September 2 when they hit the road to take on Salado.
