It was not the homecoming the Rudder Rangers were hoping for.
With a district record at 2-2, the Rangers welcomed in a Waller team that didn't have one win in District 18-4A.
But the Bulldogs came in hungry for that first win. Former Texas State Head Coach Brad Wright lead the Bulldogs to a 23-0 lead before Rudder would finally score in the second quarter.
Tre Guyton would run in from 50 yards out to put Rudder on the board but Waller wallops Rudder 44-14.
Rudder Head Coach C.M. Pier was absent from the game for the first half due to a severe ear infection. Defensive coordinator Alan Fritsche took over the play calls but Pier arrived at the half to try to fire up his team.
