BRYAN, TX -- The Rudder Rangers fought back from a 21 point halftime deficit to beat Taylor 28 - 21 in overtime in the season opening game for both teams.
Taylor quarterback Jarvis Caldwell threw three touchdown passes in the first half to put the Ducks up 21 - 0 at halftime. The Rangers responded with 21 second half points to tie the game and force overtime. Rudder scored first in overtime and then intercepted a Taylor pass to put the game away.
The Rangers will be back on the field September 2 when they face Leander Rouse at Merrill Green Stadium.
