COLLEGE STATION, TX -- The A&M Consolidated Tigers scored 35 unanswered points Friday night in the Crosstown Showdown against the Bryan Vikings and picked up a 49-21 win at Kyle Field. It was the Tiger's 16th in the series to go along with eight defeats. The series dates back to 1986.
Bryan built a 21-14 halftime lead. With under a minute left in the second quarter, Zac Slaydon recovered a Jacob Bronowski fumble and two plays later it resulted in a touchdown for Bryan thanks to a Chris Johnson six yard TD run.
But the Vikings halftime momentum quickly vanished in the third quarter thanks to a pair of Jacob Bronowski touchdown runs that put A&M Consolidated back on top for good 28-21.
The Tigers scored 35 unanswered points in the game with 28 coming in the third quarter. Quinton White and Durasis Nutall completing the 3rd quarter scoring barrage.
A&M Consolidated will try to extend their 12-5A winning streak to four in a row next Friday night when they host Shoemaker at Tigerland Stadium.
Bryan will look to rebound next week as they host Copperas Cove at Merrill Green Stadium in Bryan. Both games will kick off at 7:30pm.
