Tigers fall to Westlake in Austin

AUSTIN, TX -- A&M Consolidated lost to Austin Westlake 39-29 Friday night at Chaparral Stadium. The Tigers are now 0-3 on the season.

A&M Consolidated started the scoring when quarterback Weston Garner ran 64 yards for a touchdown. Quinton White added a 21 yard touchdown run to give the Tigers a 14-0 lead. Westlake scored 18 points in the second quarter to grab an 18-14 halftime lead.

The Chaparrals would take a 32-21 lead into the fourth quarter. Durasis Nutall cut into that lead with a 95 yard touchdown run. Garner hit Justin Benden on the two point conversion try to cut the Westlake lead to 32-29. Chaparral running back Brice Dolezal answered that score with a 45 yard touchdown run to help put the game away.

A&M Consolidated returns to action September 23 when they open up district 12-5A play against Temple at Tiger Stadium in College Station.
