MILWAUKEE (AP) - Despite the fact they lost on the final day of
the regular season, the San Diego Padres are going to take part in
the post season. The Padres will face Colorado on Monday, in
Denver, in a one-game playoff to determine the National League wild
card winner.
The Padres would have wrapped up the wild card had they beaten
the Brewers. But they lost 11-6.
Padres manager Bud Black opted to not use ace Jake Peavy in the
Milwaukee series on the chance he might be needed in a playoff.
He'll get the start Monday against the Rockies.
